NOTARY FEES*

  • Protesting a bill or note for non-acceptance or non-payment, Register and seal........$4.00

  • Each notice of protest........$1.00

  • Protesting in all other cases.......$4.00

  • Certificate and seal to a protest.......$4.00

  • Taking the acknowledgment or proof of any deed or other instrument in writing, for registration, including certificate and seal, first signature........$6.00  ($1.00 each additional signature)

  • Administering an oath or affirmation with certificate and seal......$6.00

  • All certificates under seal not otherwise provided for......$6.00

  • Copies of all records and papers in the Notary Public'c office, each page....$ .50

  • Taking the depositions of witnesses, for each 100 words.....$ .50

  • Swearing a witness to a deposition, certificate, seal and other business connected with taking the deposition......$6.00

  • All notarial acts not provided for......$6.00


TRAVEL FEES*:

Travel fees are not specified by law.  The travel fee is separate from the notarial fees described above.  Travel fees range from $20.00 and up depending on distance traveled.  Fee will be agreed upon before we depart for your destination.

Special notes:

  • Proof of identification is required of ALL signing parties.
  • All parties must understand what they are signing and doing so of their own free will.
  • Under Texas Law, we CANNOT explain the documents needing to be notarized.
  • If witnesses are required please make arrangements to have them present.
  • Verbal oaths will be administered to each signer.
  • Travel fees ARE NOT specified as part of the notarization, it is a travel fee * only.

PROHIBITED ACTS

Texas Notaries Public CANNOT:

  • Perform acts which constitute the practice of law.
  • Prepare, draft, select, or give advice concerning documents.
  • Translate the term ‘Notary Public’ into Spanish (Notario Publico).
  • Overcharge for their notarial services.
  • Notarize a document without the signer being in their presence.
  • Notarize their own signature.
  • Issue identification cards.
  • Sign documents under a name that is not reflected on their commission.
  • Fail to affix a legally required notary seal on notarized documents.
  • Certify copies of recorded public records.


The document(s) to be notarized MUST contain notarial wording: otherwise YOU must know and convey to the notary what type of notarial act needs to be performed.


We CANNOT notarize the following:

  • Incomplete document(s)
  • Document(s) signed outside of our presence
  • Birth, death or marriage certificates
  • Document(s) with faxed or copied signatures
  • Copies of document(s) (except for Power of Attorney)
  • Pre/post dated document notarizations
